Acting Director of SKVC Nora Skaburskienė took part in the Final conference of BIHTEK project (Benchmarking as a Tool for Improvement of Higher Education Institution Performance - 530696-TEMPUS-1-2012-1-BE-TEMPUS-SMGR) on the 5-6 of April in Mostar. Staff member of SKVC, as the member of the Central and Eastern European Network of Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (CEENQA), had a role of an expert responsible for quality assurance of project activities.
The project which started in autumn of 2012 was devoted to implementation of benchmarking in higher education institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Benchmarking Handbook was created during the project and served as a basis for pilot benchmarkings between local universities as well as with Belgian and German universities.
During the Final conferences participants shared good practices of benchmarking process and also presented recommendations for improvement of benchmarking. A lot of participants stressed improved cooperation among universities, successful work together and knowledged gained.
Participating universities expressed their positive attitude towards new management tool which will serve to improvement of activities of higher education institutions. Benchmarking tool could help to analyze the work of university in a chosen area and improve it while learning from the partners. Universities evidenced their commitment to the continued use of the tool developed post the conclusion of the BIHTEK project. All expressed firm commitment and appreciation of the benefits and advantages of benchmarking for the strategic management of the universities as well as the added advantage to the overall quality of universities.
